From Creation to Kingdom.

Updated: Mar 3, 2022

"My son is ridden with sin...It is in his DNA. It is his heritage."

I desire for my son to be an adventurer.

I crave for him to find beauty in all that God has crafted.

To be a person who understands that he is a small part of a MUCH larger creation.

Yet a very significant part—He has been sculpted in the likeness of the Creator.

So I take him on long strolls through the park every few days.

He either travels via one of three modes of transportation...

From most interactive to least, his options are: baby carrier, stroller, or car seat in the stroller.

Two days ago, I was strolling Moses through the Metropark by the lake (using the least interactive method because I didn’t want to wake him up during his transition from the car).

Since he hadn’t gotten to see much but my face and the back of people’s heads who passed us, I decided it would be nice for him to at least see the water up close.

I pulled him (car seat and all) out of the stroller and set him on the rocks beside me.

I scanned my nearby surroundings and all I saw was nature.

I looked at Moses and realized that he was part of that very nature.

As much as the squirrel who scurried by. As the moss growing on the rock in front of us. As the monarch butterfly that feeds on the nearby milkweed plant. So my son was, living and breathing in this very environment; surviving off the air of the plants and breathing life back into them.

This is nature.

He is nature.

And nature is so beautiful!

But I couldn’t help but notice the eyesore of the car seat.

How badly I wished I could pull him out of it and just sit him on the rocks to truly experience the life around him. But he was refrained from true unity to this environment by a safety device littered with warning labels.

He cannot live on this earth that God created for him in the way God intended him to. He will always have a perverted view of the world because of his predecessors.

Because of Adam.

Because of the “do-over Adam” named Noah.

Because of his very namesake, Moses.

Because of the Roman soldiers who murdered our Lord.

Because of me.

My son is ridden with sin.

Hell is sculpted by his selfishness and his disobedience.

It is in his DNA.

It is his heritage.

This world was created for us; For us to tend. For us to love. For us to be fruitful and multiply.

It was meant to thrive under the care of our hands in our co-laboring with our Creator.

But it is now tainted. Spoiled. Toxic.

But I believe these ancient words ring true. They were once spoken by a man from a good-for-nothing town called Nazareth. He said, “The time has come and the Kingdom of God is near.”

I believe that our Creator has returned. I believe His purpose for return is not to gather His children and abandon His creation, but to restore it. I believe that God is merging His Kingdom with His creation once again, as it was in the beginning.

I believe in order for this to be completed He has to expel the hell that we have crafted. And not just at the obvious macro level, but the very seeds that cause this weed to grow have to go.

He has brought His Kingdom near to rebuild, restructure, and merge His creation to His Kingdom right here on earth.

"I believe that God is merging His Kingdom with His creation once again, as it was in the beginning."

I anticipate a day when Moses will experience unity with nature.

I trust I will see him at peace and rest on this earth, but only while abiding in the Savior.

I AM NOT praying that he will just do good things or believe the right things about Jesus. I AM praying that, while on earth, he receives the free gift of God (the Kingdom of Heaven) through faith AND lives his life on earth as it is in Heaven.

I AM NOT awaiting a day when his life ends and he is transferred from earth to God’s Kingdom. I AM awaiting a day when he embodies God’s Kingdom right here.

And in that receiving of the Kingdom and his embodiment of it, HE WILL NOT just share the good news of the Kingdom of Heaven, BUT live it out because it literally resides in him.

That is the gospel, And to it I cling.

"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God. 'The time has come,' He said. 'The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!'"

- Mark 1:14-15
